Lafe Turns 2!

I am a little late in posting about it but a couple weeks ago Lafe turned 2. He is growing up so fast and it is hard to believe that our baby is 2 already. We had a pinata that the kids broke. Lafe was in heaven as he was encouraged to hit something with a bat besides a ball.
He had a lot of help from his sisters opening his presents because he didn't quite get what he was supposed to do.

As far as blowing out his candles we had to relight them several times because as soon as we got one lit he would blow it out.
One of the gifts that Lafer got was this t-shirt. And oh how true it is.
Sage was trying to whisper to Lafe what his present was.
This was Lafer's favorite gift of the night. The soccer ball and goal.
He new exactly what the goal was for.

I couldn't help but think back to when Lafer was born. He had a rough start as he had to spend the first two weeks of his life in the NICU at a hospital in Portland. He had a hard time getting his lungs working at first. Looking at him you wouldn't have thought he had anything wrong. He was 7 lb 14 oz and one of the biggest babies in the NICU.
He had to have a chest tube put in because he had a pneumothorax (hole in his lung) so we couldn't hold him for a few days after he was born.
It was hard to see him hooked up to all the tubes and wires and not to be able to hold him.
What a special boy Lafer is.
As much as we miss him being a little baby, we are sure enjoying watching him grow and learn.

What a sweet post. I didn't know that Lafe was in the hospital so long after he was born, and I am glad that he did so well. He really is a fun and daring little boy. It always made me laugh to see how very different he and Olivia were, even though they were the same age (Livvy's birthday is this week). Happy Birthday!

I can't believe Lafe is 2. I saw Aimee this last weekend and it was wierd to see Caroline so grown up, it was fun to see Olivia, Ben, Natalie & Alison just like we had never moved. It is sad to think a day will come when they some of them won't remember the time in Oregon. Good thing we have lot's of pictures. We miss you guys as neighbors, would you like to move to TX? There are lot's of PA jobs here!!
